Service Line Replacement Reimbursement

To qualify for a reimbursement for a galvanized line replacement, the applicant must meet the following requirements:

• The applicant must be the property owner where the service line is located.
• A reimbursement for a partial service line replacement is only accepted IF there is no galvanized line remaining at any point in the service line and the untouched portion of the service line is made of copper.
• The portion of the service line in the street must also be replaced if galvanized line. Property owners own the service line from the point of the tap located in the street to the home.
• An application for reimbursement must be submitted and approved in advance of replacement of the galvanized service line.
• The applicant’s property must not be on Parkville Water District’s schedule for galvanized service line replacement in the current calendar year or in the next calendar year.
• The replacement of the galvanized service line must not conflict with paving moratoriums for recently paved streets.*

*Parkville Water District may apply an exception for properties that are required to replace a galvanized service line.

Parkville Water District provides reimbursement for customers who wish to complete a galvanized service line replacement. The reimbursement is a one-time payment of $3,800 subject to availability of funds

If you are approved, Parkville Water District will send you an email notification with guidance for what to do after your service line has been replaced.

If you are approved, Parkville Water District will mail you a check once a paid invoice from a contractor is received to Parkville Water District.

• Property owners must submit an application in advance of replacing their galvanized service line AND receive a confirmation email approving their application.

You must replace your galvanized service line before the end of the calendar year in which your reimbursement is approved. If you do not replace your galvanized service line before the end of the calendar year, you must reapply in the next calendar year.

After the service line is replaced, Parkville will inspect the new line. Customer will send Parkville a paid invoice from contractor. After these tasks are completed, Parkville Water District will issue your reimbursement.
